Why is SEO important?

Search Engine Optimization is as important for you website as the design and build of the website itself.  There's no point in spending your money on a great website when no one's going to see it.

There are exceptions to this however.  This doesn't really apply if your website if it's for a closed audience that you're not hoping to find through search engines, or don't have a commercial website.
